In continuation of its latest season, Bozeman Film Society screens charming documentary, Wild Inside. The event will be held at Downtown Bozeman’s Rialto theater on Friday, August 14th. The film begins at 7:30pm.
On February 2, 2023, Flaco – a male Eurasian eagle-owl, the largest species of owl in the world – was discovered missing from his cage at the Central Park Zoo in Manhattan. What follows when Flaco, who had lived his entire life in captivity, was released in New York City is a surprising story revealing the delight, concern, and fascination of millions in the city and beyond. Not Rated with a run time of 95 minutes.

Following on Saturday, August 15th, BFS and Friends of the Story Mansion present the 17th annual “Story Under the Stars” event. This year’s centerpiece is a screening of local classic A River Runs Through It. The evening begins at 6:30pm in Story Mansion Park.
This free screening celebrates Opera Montana’s world premiere of their production of the same name next month, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Norman Maclean’s beloved elegy to family and fly fishing in Montana.
The event kicks off with a free casting seminar from Montana Angler, a live performance of original songs from Opera Montana, food trucks, ice cream and popcorn. Bring blankets, low-back chairs, flashlights, and doggie bags for your furry friends. The film starts at dusk.
The Maclean brothers, Paul (Brad Pitt) and Norman (Craig Sheffer), live a relatively idyllic life in rural Montana, spending much of their time fly fishing. The sons of a minister (Tom Skerritt), the boys eventually part company when Norman moves east to attend college, leaving his rebellious brother to find trouble back home. When Norman finally returns, the siblings resume their fishing outings, and assess both where they’ve been and where they’re going. Rated PG with a run time of 123 minutes.
