Stand-up, scenes from a pop epic kick off WMPAC winter
Big Sky’s Warren Miller Performing Arts Center begins 2021 with more of its in-person and virtual programming, beginning with two nights of hilarity at the Big Sky Laugh-Fest on Friday and Saturday, January 8th–9th. Show times are 5:30pm and 8pm each night. Run time is one hour. Tickets are $25.
This custom weekend of laughs has been imagined for intimate in-person audiences with three acclaimed stand-up comics. Featuring Sara Schaefer, Brian Simpson and Adam Cayton-Holland, this is an 18+ show.
Additional nights of hybrid stage entertainment follow with Behind the Curtain: Jeannette the Musical on Friday and Saturday, January 22nd–23rd. Show times are 5:30pm and 8pm each night. Run time is one hour. Tickets range $10–$25.
An epic pop musical based on the true story of America’s first Congresswoman, Jeannette electrifies the life and history of suffrage activist, social worker, and Montanan Jeannette Rankin. Elected to Congress in 1916 – three years before women were granted the right to vote – Jeannette finds herself as the only female voice within the halls of power to vote on women’s suffrage.
This unique weekend looks into how Broadway musicals come together, featuring excerpts from the show, new orchestrations by Grammy and Tony-winning orchestrator and music producer Todd Sickafoose, and live performances from the creators and local Montana-based performing artists. Directed by Erin Ortman, an NYC-based director, creator, and equalist with roots in Helena, Montana.
Looking to next month, reserve your spot for Through the Fourth Wall. This immersive group experience will challenge and entertain beginning February 10th. Evening reservations will be available multiple times daily. Game time is one hour. Reservations are $100 per group.
This new, immersive game was created especially for small groups of friends and families of 4 to 8 people. Designed by Jason McDowell-Green and Alejandro Fajardo, longtime WMPAC collaborators who designed Big Sky Resort’s escape room, this is a theatrical take on an escape room experience.
Note: Warren Miller events may be experienced as part of a limited in-person audience or by way of virtual broadcast. Details vary by performance.
