For their spring production, the Kaleidoscope Players will present Calico for one weekend only! Performances of this original western comedy will be held Friday and Saturday, May 4th–5th, at 7pm each evening. There will be an additional matinee performance on Saturday at 2pm, as well as a closing matinee on Sunday, May 6th at 2pm. All performances take place at the Kaleidoscope Playhouse, located at 1602 W. Beall St. in Bozeman.
“A herd of cats? That’s so strange!” Locals aren’t sure exactly what to think when Slim Jim and his Catpokes arrive with their purring herd on the sleepy outskirts of their little Western town, Calico, and decide to call it home for awhile on account of Miss Kitty’s famous “Beans, Beans, and More Beans.” Cal and Co Rustlers decide to do what they do best, but are a little befuddled at exactly how to rustle a cat, and Sheriff Jack and his brave deputies are doing their best to keep the peace – especially when a group of lovely “Rodents Have Rights” activists arrive in town to stir up some mischief too. It sure looks like a CATastrophe in the making unless something can be worked out, and quick!
Join storyteller Old Whiskers as he takes all on a journey back in time with this comical salute to the Wild West. Featuring songs such as “No Tougher Biz Than Ridin’ Herd on a Cat,” “Wearin’ the Star,” “Beans,” “Kitty, Kitty,” and more, Calico is sure to entertain audiences young and old.
Tickets to these performances are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and free for children under 5. Bring a cat toy, Friskies pate canned food, unscented bleach, or paper towels as a gift to Heart of the Valley and receive $2 off an adult admission. Show proof of an animal adoption made in April and see the show for FREE! For tickets, call the Playhouse at (406) 587-3642, purchase online at www.kytbozeman.org, or find them at the door.
