2nd Annual Spread the Warmth Winter Clothing Drive presented by Livingston Women in Business
Livingston Women in Business (LWIB) presents the 2nd Annual Spread the Warmth Winter Clothing Drive. Donations of new or gently used winter clothing will be collected November 7-28 at various locations throughout Park County. We are in need of coats, hats, mittens, gloves, snow pants, boots, socks and scarves for men, women and children. All donations collected will be distributed December 4th from 10am-1pm at the Livingston Civic Center to those in need in our community to help Spread the Warmth as winter approaches.
Last year’s inaugural Spread the Warmth drive brought in nearly 1,200 articles of clothing that were distributed to members of the community. “We were thrilled with how the community responded to last year’s drive and the number of donations we received,” said Livingston Women in Business co-founder and coordinator Rachel Anderson. “This year, we are excited about how many local businesses have stepped up to be donation sites and provide additional incentives to people for making donations at their locations.”
The donation locations include Ace Hardware, Edward Jones (Main St. Location), First Interstate Bank, Katabatic Brewing Co., Livingston HealthCare, Livingston Home Outfitters, Markouture, Montessori Island School, St. Mary’s Catholic School, The Office Lounge, The Shane Center, the Spur Line, Town & Country Foods, Woods Rose Market, Drinking Horse Coffee Cabin (Clyde Park), and Concept Design Studios (Bozeman). Just look for the big boxes wrapped in holiday wrapping paper with the Spread the Warmth sign on them. Donation site collection hours are regular business hours for each location. Additional incentives from some of these businesses will be posted on the Spread the Warmth Facebook page to encourage donations.
Distribution of the donations will take place on December 4th from 10am-1pm at the Livingston Civic Center. Organizations that serve members of our community that may be in need of these donations are encouraged to contact LWIB to help promote the distribution to ensure that these items get in the hands of the people who need them most.
The Community Closet has provided grant funding to help with the advertising costs of the clothing drive as well as donated poster paper that is being used to print the posters that will be distributed around town. The Livingston Recreation department has also generously donated the use of the Civic Center for the distribution day. “We are thankful for organizations like The Community Closet and the Livingston Recreation Department for their generosity in helping with Spread the Warmth,” said Anderson.
