Spanish Peaks, Moonlight announce new partnership with famed skier Bode Miller
Big Sky Community welcomes the most decorated U.S. skier and top U.S. Olympic skier of all time to Montana
Lone Mountain Land Company, the owners of Spanish Peaks Mountain Club and Moonlight Basin, along with the Big Sky Real Estate Company in Big Sky, Montana, are proud to announce a new long-term partnership with American alpine skier and six-time Olympic medalist, Bode Miller.
Miller and his wife, Morgan are setting up a new home in the pristine, yet rugged landscape of Spanish Peaks Mountain Club.
“This part of the Rocky Mountains is just remarkable, and the Big Sky community is really vibrant and growing,” Miller said. “More importantly, the people here are genuine, friendly, and seem to have a spirit of independence and grit that really harmonizes with mine. Everyone who chooses to live here is looking for a mountain town culture, which Big Sky provides. I’m looking to be a part of that with my family.”
Miller will work with and represent Spanish Peaks Mountain Club and Moonlight Basin on many fronts, from events to promotions, and will be part of the leadership team going forward.
“There’s no one like Bode Miller in the skiing world and we couldn’t be prouder to be partnering with him,” Matt Kidd said, Managing Director at Cross Harbor Capital and Lone Mountain Land Company. “Bode is a remarkable athlete who already occupies ‘legend’ status. He’s talented in so many ways, yet his humility, friendliness, and approachability make him a natural fit for our organization, as well as the community of Big Sky.”
As Miller integrates into the Big Sky community, a great number of programs are being developed and will be announced at a later date.
“We love our home in California, yet we are drawn to the mountains and the mountain lifestyle. My love of skiing has only been enhanced through time on the snow with my family,” Miller said. “The mountains here feature world-class pitches as well as family friendly terrain, which is perfect for my entire family. The year-round activities are awesome, from fly fishing world-renown waters to golfing the internationally acclaimed courses at Spanish Peaks Mountain Club and The Reserve at Moonlight Basin, Montana is never lacking in options, all of which are almost incomparable.”
Miller has already been welcomed to the area by many in the Big Sky community, including a morning workout session with local youth competitive skiers, which he seeks to engage with and advance over the coming years.
“It is Bode’s skiing accomplishments that draw so many people to him initially, but what so many have found intriguing and endearing is his passion for the sport and his interests in inspiring the next generation of skiers from this area,” Matt Kidd said. “He has a profound sense of caring about young skiers and their development. We look forward to supporting his interests and focus further.” •
