The outdoor performance space at Bozeman Hot Springs has become a go-to for live music lovers, whether the sun is shining or the flurries are flying. The venue features a poolside stage with weekly showcases of regional and traveling acts every Thursday and Sunday at 7pm. Enjoy the area’s best musicians this month.
Kicking things off on January 4th is Taylor Burlage. Frontman of one of Bozeman’s favorite rock groups, The Dead & Down, Burlage plays a mix of originals and classic folk-rock covers, combining his vocals with multiple guitars.
Check out the Savvy Duo on Jan. 7th. The rowdy four-piece is known for their rock covers from every era of music. For this set, band members Kristin (guitar/vox) and Adam (drums) will be breaking things down a little for a calmer (though still rockin’) acoustic set.
Max Davies & Friends take the poolside stage on Jan. 11th. Guitarist with the incredible cosmic bluegrass group Kitchen Dwellers, Davies is playing a laid back acoustic set featuring both songs from the band and covers. Davies will also be joined by some other amazing local musicians.
Settle in for Trio Grandioso – A Grateful Dead Tribute on Jan. 14th. Featuring members of the always-incredible local Grateful Dead tribute Dead Sky, this arrangement brings the full band’s sound down for a more laid-back setting. The trio will provide an incredible tribute to one of rock’s most legendary bands, creating a perfect show for Dead Heads and casual fans alike.
Local duo Brambles & Briar, featuring Jacob Rountree and Cole Thorne, performs on Jan. 18th. The alt-folk duo has a unique, experimental sound utilizing ukulele, percussive lap guitar, layered loops and intelligent harmonies.
Next up is the Pinky Trio, tuning up the audience on Jan. 21st. Dustin Tucker, Luke Flansburg and Joe Kircher bring the full band’s energy to this toned down but still hugely entertaining set. The show will feature everything from acoustic Pink Floyd covers to originals, among other selections.
Following on Jan. 25th are Benn & Abel. The new age Americana band from Bozeman plays a mixture of originals and covers, everything you’d expect from a Montana folk duo.
Lena “Laney Lou” Schiffer joins the Last Revel’s Ryan Acker for a Jan. 28th performance showcasing their side project, The Canoe Dealers. The duo fronts a unique folk experience featuring vocal harmonies, banjo, and acoustic guitar with impressive songwriting to boot.
