From the “Monster Mash” to the Pumpkin Smash! Happy Trash Can Curbside Composting will again host the annual event on Saturday, November 3rd in the north lawn outside the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture from 9am–noon. Bring your pumpkins and jack o’lanterns and smash them to pieces! Happy Trash Can will then collect the remnants and compost them at their local site. The weekly Bozeman Winter Farmers’ Market will be happening inside the Emerson, so you can also stock up on some fresh produce for fall cooking. The Pumpkin Smash is FREE and fun for the whole family! Refreshments will be provided.
Serving the communities of Bozeman and Belgrade since 2016, Happy Trash Can offers weekly compost collection. They pick up, process, and compost food waste year-round, aiming to provide a simple service to divert all possible food waste from the landfills and turn it into nutrient-rich soil. Happy Trash Can diverted over 100,000 pounds of food waste from Bozeman’s landfill in its first year. Interested in a subscription? Only $15 per month gets you one 5-gallon bucket to be swapped out every week. Log on to www.happytrashcan.net for further information and to subscribe
