Shane Center screens The Year We Lost featuring local students
The Devised Theatre Initiative presents two free screenings of the original film The Year We Lost on Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18 at 7pm in the Dulcie Theatre at the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts. The film features local students in scenes they created.
The Shane Center’s Sarah Kelly and Russell Lewis met with a group of Park High School students over Zoom for 6 months during 2020 and 2021. Through their weekly discussions and writings, they crafted a script to explore the various challenges they and their peers were facing. The Year We Lost is the culmination of their work.
Free admission. Open seating. Doors open at 6:30; film starts 7pm. A talk-back session with students and instructors will follow each screening.
The Devised Theatre Initiative is a program of the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts made possible through the generous support of AMB West Philanthropies. •
