William Shakespeare’s spellbinding tragedy Macbeth is set to kick off the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts’ 2016-2017 community theatre season. Director Kory Gunderson delivers a 21st century update to Shakespeare’s tragedy of self-promotion, betrayal, and murder. Up-and-coming officer Macbeth and his wife become intoxicated with ambition when his military success results in promotion and rapid celebrity. They soon discover that a life built on violence is more than they can handle and that they have unwittingly destroyed their own future. This production features mature content and themes, and may be unsuitable for younger audiences. Macbeth runs weekends from October 21st through November 13th in the Dulcie Theatre at the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts in Livingston.
Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $18 for adults, $14 for seniors and college students, and $10 for youth 17 and under. Reservations are available at www.theshanecenter.org/ or by calling the box office at (406) 222-1420.
