Learn about impacts and potential solutions in an ongoing climate crisis with Gallatin Valley Friends of the Sciences, whose popular lecture series continues its new season this month with all new subject matter. Co-sponsored by Museum of the Rockies and Hopa Mountain, the next talk of the ’25-’26 series is set for Wednesday, October 22nd. “The Energy, Economy & Climate Nexus” will begin at 7:30pm. It will be held in the Community Room at Bozeman Public Library.
What are the challenges and tools available to reduce climate impact while maintaining a modern economy and a publicly acceptable standard of living? Dr. Lee Spangler, Director of the Energy Research Institute at MSU, will discuss the scale of the problem, the strengths and weaknesses of the energy infrastructure, and details of MSU research projects in carbon sequestration as a potential partial solution.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A period.
