On Saturday, June 14th, the community is invited to start the summer off by putting on their boots and kicking up their heels – all in support of big adventures in adaptive recreation and horsemanship with Eagle Mount. Their annual Western Rendezvous is an opportunity to enjoy a family style BBQ, kids carnival, Genuine ice cream and live and silent auction. The evening concludes with dancing to the music of Western Skies.
“Summer doesn’t start until the tent goes up, the carnival is underway and Western Rendezvous has begun,” said Kevin Sylvester, Eagle Mount Executive Director. “It is a Bozeman tradition and everyone’s opportunity to join together on Eagle Mount’s campus for an evening of family fun, support and community.”
Western Rendezvous began in 1995 as a barn dance and opportunity to give to the therapeutic horsemanship program. The event has outgrown the barn, is hosted under one of the valley’s largest tents and is an invitation to invest in the greater Gallatin Valley community by supporting a beloved Bozeman non-profit.
As a homegrown, community driven non-profit, Eagle Mount is focused on providing individuals with disabilities, young people impacted by a diagnosis of cancer and their families with opportunities for adventure.
“Each day our team members facilitate joy and share worlds of adventure with program participants. Our programs are a pathway to independence, community, and the chance for people of all abilities to experience recreation in Montana. We are grateful for the support of the community,” said Bruce Anderson, Director of Programs.
Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the newly expanded Storey Mills Horsemanship Education Center and help choose the name of Montana’s only equine simulator. Event tickets, reserved tables and sponsor opportunities can be found at www.eaglemount.org.
Eagle Mount Bozeman is committed to provide quality adaptive recreation and sport opportunities for people with disabilities and young people impacted by cancer, and to provide support for families of participants, so that “they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” •
