As the snow continues to melt, recreationists are reminded it’s about time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors! REI Bozeman continues to host FREE outdoors-based presentations this spring. Here’s a look at a few of the upcoming events and courses.

During this daylong sale, REI Members are invited to come in for amazing deals on “as is”merchandise that has been used and returned. Items are priced to sell. Come in early for the best selection. Do you love the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Area and want to help protect it? Learn how you can Volunteer in the Absaroka-Beartooth with an information session on Thursday, April 25th from 6–7:30pm.
Hosted by the A-B Wilderness Foundation, attendees will learn about the seven principles of Leave No Trace, the history of the A-B, and how to interact with trail users. A-B Trail Ambassadors volunteer for three-hour shifts at heavily used trail heads, chatting with Custer Gallatin National Forest visitors and handing out essentials like trowels and dog poop bags. If you have an interest in becoming a trail ambassador or just want to learn about the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, swing by REI for this casual info session.
Opening up a new month, the Bozeman Backcountry Woman Series: Packing with Your Pup is set for Wednesday, May 1st from 6–7:30pm. Learn about where to go with your dog, the best leash and dog pack type for you, protecting your dog’s feet, weather considerations, and first aid. The instructor may even bring her pup to model the gear!
