Greetings to all of you Bozmanites and those visiting the “Valley of the Flowers.” The tundra is rapidly thawing and soon the bulbs and lilacs will begin flowering our valley. Spring is a celebration of new beginnings and fresh creation. But let’s not forget about the brand new softball seasons beginning soon, too!
What better way to have fun and get exercise while taking part in some much needed competition and empowering camaraderie? The Gallatin Valley Softball Association would like to help ensure your summer evenings are spent under glorious skies and colorful horizons of pink, teal, and burnt orange sunsets. All this natural beauty for you to enjoy as you swing away in the batter’s box looking for that game-winning RBI, or chasing down a long fly ball for a razzle-dazzle catch that’s as brilliant as those skies above. How’s that sound for a summer plan?
Now is the time to visit www.gvsoftball.org and register your co-ed men’s or women’s teams. Registration is done online and very easy. Plan to attend the annual payment meeting to be held at 7pm on Thursday, April 18th at the C’Mon Inn, located at 6139 E Valley Center in Bozeman. You’ll have the opportunity to receive all needed information, have your questions answered, and even use some of the available laptops to register your teams. GVSA members will be on-hand to help you with the navigation if needed.
Not on a team yet? New to the area? Finally going to sign up for softball after hearing so much about it from friends and family? Your path to joining a team starts at GVSA’s free agent section featured on the website. It’s where you can create your profile with league preferences, skill sets, and contact info so teams needing players can get to you directly.
Opening day is just around the corner with April 29th serving as the official start of the new season. Log on to the website with all inquiries, questions, details about the Bozeman Softball complex, as well as dates and information about upcoming tournaments.
The second annual Kickoff Tournament will be held the weekend of April 27th–28th with registration available through the website. It’s sure to be an epic season and GVSA looks forward to seeing everyone at the ballpark this year. While there, don’t forget to stop in at the snack bar for a delicious burger and fries or maybe some popcorn and peanuts. Have a great summer!
