Raison D’être promotes local artists & agriculture with upcoming events
On August 6th and 8th, Raison D’être Dance Project will present a new production at the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture. “Excerpts & Suites” will begin at 7pm on Friday and 4pm Sunday. Tickets range $20–$25.
The program will include a set of three unique, contemporary ballets that feature original concepts and choreography. The company will premiere ‘The Yann Tiersen Suite,’ ‘Afterthought’ and ‘The Yogo Sapphire Suite.’ Each performance will showcase artists of Raison D’être, music composed by Jay Smith and performed by a live ensemble, as well as a solo cello performance by Else Trygstad-Burke.
Following August 28th and 29th, Raison D’être and Ballet Vermont will come together to bring the Farm to Ballet Project to the Gallatin Valley. Gallatin Valley Botanical at Rocky Creek Farm will host Saturday, followed by Bodhi Farms on Sunday. Both begin at 6pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and free for kids under 12.
These events will promote local agriculture and the arts simultaneously by featuring local artists and host farms. Picture famous ballets like Swan Lake and Giselle, performed by farm animals and produce, and accompanied by a live string ensemble! Add in beautiful agricultural settings, free tickets and activities for kids, farm fresh food, and you have the perfect weekend family outing.
