Gallatin Conservation District closes its “Land & Water Stewardship for Locals” series with its final gathering this month. A Daylong Stewardship Workshop, will take place Thursday, April 2nd, at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. The event will be held from 9am–2pm.
Learn about managing native and noxious plants, water rights, stream health and permits needed for conducting work in and around streams. Presenters to include Megan Hoyer with the Department of Agriculture, as well as representatives from state and county agencies. Free lunch to be provided midday.

The Stewardship Workshop follows previously held lectures “Expanding Agricultural Operations,” “Forest Health & Management” and “Ditch & Irrigation Infrastructure.” A special thanks to all who participated in this conservation series.
This four-month long series is dedicated to landowners and realtors who are looking to expand their knowledge about our natural resources in Montana and how to properly manage them. These talks are free and open to the public.
Gallatin Conservation District administers the Natural Streambed and Land Preservation Act, provides youth and adult education opportunities, sponsors grants, provides assistance to small acreage landowners, conducts a cost share program for landowners, provides items for sale, partners with other agencies on natural resource based projects, and gets actively involved in various programs and events.
