As the snow continues to melt, recreationists are reminded it’s about time to get out and enjoy the great outdoors! REI Bozeman continues to host outdoors-based presentations this spring. Here’s a look at a few of the upcoming events and courses.
Opening up a new month, the Bozeman Backcountry Woman Series: Packing with Your Pup will take place Wednesday, May 1st from 6–7:30pm. Learn about where to go with your dog, the best leash and dog pack type for you, protecting your dog’s feet, weather considerations, and first aid. The instructor may even bring her pup to model the gear!
Looking toward month’s end, Cycling in Glacier National Park is set for Thursday, May 30th from 6–7:30pm. Glacier is a million acres of stunning ruggedness with over 700 miles of trails and over 700 lakes. Whether you’ve been to Glacier or not, come and hear a Certified Interpretive Guide and self-professed “Glacier guru” present an overview of the ins and outs of visiting the park. She will focus primarily on biking but will also touch on hiking, camping, wildlife, safety and visiting Glacier during the off-seasons. She has used her environmental interpretation skills in Glacier for four summers, most recently leading groups through the park in her role as a Group Leader with the Road Scholar program.
Many REI classes and presentations are free and open to the public, but registration is required as space is limited. Reserve a spot now at www.rei.com/learn, where you can find more information about these and other upcoming courses and events.
