The Belgrade Community Library and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Montana State University will host a presentation Thursday, May 8th, titled “Autonomous Vehicles: A Technology Driven Industry.”
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 6 to 7:30pm at Belgrade Community Library’s new location, 205 E. Main St.
The presentation will explore how recent advancements in machine learning and robotics have made autonomous vehicles a reality.
Logan Perreault, a programmer for self-driving vehicles at the company Cruise, will trace the history of autonomous vehicle development and the relationships between auto manufacturers, regulatory bodies and the public. Perreault will also discuss social and economic implications for the autonomous vehicle industry, including environmental impacts and accident safety.
Attendees can register for the presentation online, and walk-ins are welcome.
