The Livingston Film Series is delighted to present a screening of audience favorite The Upside on Thursday, February 8th. The film begins at 7pm at the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts.
Phillip (Bryan Cranston) is a wealthy quadriplegic who needs a caretaker to help him with his day-to-day routine in his New York penthouse. He decides to hire Dell (Kevin Hart), a struggling parolee who’s trying to reconnect with his ex and his young son. Despite coming from two different worlds, an unlikely friendship starts to blossom as Dell and Phillip rediscover the joy of living life to the fullest.
Rated PG-13, the Neil Burger-directed dramedy also features Nicole Kidman in the role of Phillip’s personal assistant, as well as Julianna Margulies and Tate Donovan in other supporting roles. The film is a remake of the 2011 French motion picture The Intouchables and has a runtime of 126 minutes.
Continuing its latest season of screening independent features, documentaries, local films and vintage classics, doors open at 6:30pm with screenings to follow at 7pm.
