BOZEMAN— Montana State University Continuing, Professional and Lifelong Learning will offer four new non-credit workshops designed for executives, managers and team leaders in early October. The workshops will be held Tuesday, Oct. 2, and Wednesday, Oct. 3. Participants can register for just one or pick and choose from among all four.
“When Voices Clash: Dealing with conflict without all the drama” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 2. Participants will identify their own conflict style and learn to deal with competing interests and needs, manage power struggles and harness the positive energy of differing viewpoints.
“Gettin’ It Together: Successful team and group dynamics” will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 2. Recognizing that managing teams is one of a leader’s most challenging tasks, the class will include specific action strategies for dealing with varied personalities and needs to enhance group productivity and fun.
Wednesday kicks off with “Building your leadership superpowers,” a workshop that will help any level of leader but aims to be particularly relevant for those who have just been promoted or are new in a leadership role. The workshop covers five major skills that differentiate great leaders from good ones and offers management techniques. The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
The Wednesday afternoon workshop is “Situational Leadership: The world’s most effective leadership tool.” Participants will learn a model that has helped more than five million leaders in organizations around the globe. Students can then use the model to match their personal style to the performance readiness of their team members and grow a productive, passionate workplace. The session will be held from 1 to 4:30p.m.
The instructor is Kathy Wojcik, owner and founder of Bluheron, a coaching and consulting firm in Bozeman. Wojcik has a master’s degree and is a professional leadership coach and human resources professional. She is the creator of more than 200 learning workshops and seminars and is the author of “Nail It: Insider Secrets on How to Score a Perfect 10 on Your Next Interview.” She has worked in organizations around the world, including Pfizer, Corning, Bausch & Lomb and Harley-Davidson.
Each workshop is $119. Participants who sign up for two or more receive a $20 discount on each additional workshop. Two or more particiants who register at the same time also receive a discount. All workshops will take place at the GranTree Inn in Bozeman.
