The Montana State women’s volleyball team will challenge themselves in the 2019 campaign by opening the season on the road in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the University of Arkansas Invitational on August 30-31.
The Bobcats, who are coming off their second straight season of double-digit wins, will also participate in two other non-conference tournaments to begin the season. Following their trip to SEC country, the ‘Cats will head north to compete in the Loyola University Chicago Rambler Challenge on September 6-7 before returning to the Treasure State to battle in the University of Montana Invitational on September 13-14.
Montana State will also host Carroll College in an exhibition contest on August 20, in addition to welcoming Seattle University to Shroyer Gym on September 17 to complete the non-conference portion of their schedule.
“With the completion of the schedule the 2019 season is one step closer,” said MSU third-year head coach Daniel Jones. “Our non-conference slate provides a great blend of challenges that will stretch us and help us to prepare for the Big Sky Conference schedule. We’re always very deliberate as we choose our non-conference opponents. A key part of the process is finding early season tests that will help give us a sense of our capabilities and develop toughness and perspective early in the year.”
As for the Big Sky Conference portion of their schedule, MSU will begin league play on the road in the Brawl of the Wild versus Montana on September 24, the first of nine road trips in conference play. The Bobcats will also host nine conference battles in Shroyer Gym with the goal of reaching the Big Sky Conference tournament, which is scheduled for November 28-30 in Sacramento, California.
