Montana Rose, Rob Quist perform one-night-only Chico shows, plus more live acts
The kids have enjoyed their spring breaks, now it’s our turn! Transition into Montana’s favorite months with a weekend getaway to Chico Hot Springs. With fantastic live entertainment in the Saloon every Friday and Saturday night, you can kick up your feet – and soak them too! Here’s a look at what’s headed to the Paradise Valley watering hole.
First up, Montana Rose brings a one-night-only performance to the Saloon on Friday, April 5th. With numerous recordings to their credit, Montana Rose has come to embody the spirit of Americana. The band is a harmonious union of the most recognizable genres of American music blended into a unique western style. Forged in the crucible of cowboy bars throughout the Rocky Mountain West, Montana Rose is comprised of front woman Claudia Williams, guitarist Bill Dwyer, bassist Todd Silas, and Rick Philipp holding the groove.
www.TWANG entertains on Saturday, April 6th. Their name says it all. The truck drivin’, heart breakin’, honky-tonk dance band has been offering up real country music to their fans since 1998. No smarmy, plastic hat-wearing, Nashville pop from these guys. Classic country and seamless TWANG originals set this band apart from all others in the Western U.S. The band features the combined talents of bass player and vocalist Russ Olsen, drummer Mike Gillan, fiddle and stand up steel guitar player Mike Parsons, lead guitarist and songwriter Marcus Engstrom, as well as rhythm guitar player and songwriter Buck Buchanan. These guys take no prisoners and leave nothing but happy dancers in their wake. Don’t miss a chance to take in one of their “real deal, premium country music” shows. You won’t be sorry.
Folk artist Rob Quist will bring a Special Sunday show on April 7th. Joined by his daughter and fellow musician, Halladay Quist, the music will begin at 7pm. Rob will provide lead vocals, banjo and guitar. He’s lead singer and songwriter of such seminal Montana groups as Mission Mountain Wood Band, The Montana Band, and Rob Quist & Great Northern. Rob has been inducted into the University of Montana School of Fine Arts Hall of Honors, recognizing him as “one of its greats.” His songs have been recorded by artists including Michael Martin Murphey and Loretta Lynn, among others.
Helena-based Justin Case Band will perform Friday and Saturday, April 12th and 13th. The ‘70s through ‘90s rock band covers tunes ranging from the Allman Brothers and Three Dog Night, to Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam. The band is comprised of Mike Killeen (guitar), Luke Michelson (bass), and Jeremy Slead (drums). Head over and check them out!
Tsunami Funk will take the stage Friday and Saturday, April 19th and 20th. The Bozeman-favorite group always packs the dance floor with Funk/R&B-rocking grooves. Tsunami Funk plays tunes from artists like Stevie Wonder, Pharrell Williams, Bruno Mars, Red Hot Chili Peppers, James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Sly & the Family Stone, Kool & the Gang, Van Morrison, Steely Dan, Bob Marley, and many more! Tsunami Funk is Eddie T, Luke Flansburg, Nate Anderson, David Charles, and Isaiah Morales.
