The Montana Chamber Music Society (MCMS) celebrates its annual Montana Chamber Music Festival with local performances on July 8th, 10th and 13th. The opening Saturday performance will be held at Livingston’s Shane Lalani Center for the Arts, followed by a Monday show at Big Sky’s Wilson Hotel, then closing with the Bozeman program on Thursday at Reynolds Recital Hall on the Montana State University campus. The Livingston and Bozeman performances begin at 7:30pm, and 6pm in Big Sky.
This year’s program will include:
– Mozart’s Piano Trio in B-flat major performed by Michele Levin, Peter Zazofsky & Sara Stalnaker
– Nielsen’s Quintet, Op 43, FS 100 (1922), performed by Bridger Winds: Kathleen Reynolds, Bill Scharnberg, Sue Makeever, Sandy Stimson & David Carter
– Rachmaninoff’s “Andante” from Cello Sonata in G Minor, Op 19, performed by Ilse-Mari Lee and Michele Levin
– Brahms’ Trio No. 3 in C minor, Op 101 (1887), performed by Michele Levin, Peter Zazofsky & Ilse-Mari Lee
The festival continues with additional performances at 4pm on July 9th at St. Timothy’s Memorial Chapel in Anaconda, and at 7pm on July 11th at Virginia City’s Elling House. The latter performance is free and open to the public.
Admission to all Montana Chamber Music Society performances is $35 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased at www.montanachambermusicsociety.org. These are also available at the door, depending on availability. Net proceeds from these programs support MCMS’s mission to present great chamber music performances throughout Montana year-round. •
