Presenting the next in its 2026 performance series, Montana Chamber Music Society will showcase Caroline Shaw + Attacca Quarter on Friday, April 10th. The concert will be held at Reynolds Recital Hall on the Montana State University campus. Music begins at 7:30pm.
This dynamic collaboration blends classical precision with contemporary innovation. Shaw, a Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and accomplished violinist, is known for her imaginative, textural writing that draws from classical traditions while embracing modern minimalism, folk influences, and vocal-inspired phrasing.
Together with the Attacca Quartet – renowned for their versatility and expressive range – they bring these compositions to life with striking clarity and emotional depth. Their partnership highlights a shared curiosity and openness to new sounds, resulting in performances that feel both intimate and adventurous, resonating with audiences across classical and contemporary music scenes.

The Washington Post on Attacca Quartet: “Four strikingly individual players with the ability to speak eloquently in one voice.”
New York Times on Caroline Shaw: “An approach to music-making based on joy, omnivorous curiosity and congeniality – even as her work challenges your expectations and takes you by surprise.”
The project’s regional tour will include “An Intimate Evening” at Willow Spring Ranch in Belgrade on April 9th at 6:30pm and a rural concert at ArtMine Basin on April 11th at noon. Find ticketing information for these performances through the host website.
