Bozeman Makerspace will host a Song Making Workshop on Saturday, November 3rd from 1–4pm. Instructors Joe Schwem and Tom Robison will give an overview of the songwriting process and help you write your own. Schwem has been writing a song a week for many years and has performed as a singer/songwriter around town since the ‘90s. Robison is a fiddler extraordinaire, teacher and songwriter. They will talk a bit about recording techniques and record a demo version of your song to take home with you.
The Makerspace will have a few instruments (keyboard, guitar, bass, fiddle, and an iPad w/ garage band) on hand to use while recording your ideas. Class participants are welcome to bring an instrument or simply their fertile minds and a desire to learn about the songwriting process. This class is $10 for Makerspace members and $20 for non-members.
A Beaded Ornament Class follows Wednesday, November 7th from 6–9pm. Join the Makerspace for an evening of beads! Create two or three beaded snowflake ornaments to hang on the tree or to give as gifts. Learn about the history of beading as well as some techniques for beading with wire. Tools and supplies provided. Open to all ages, this class is $10 for Makerspace members and $20 for non-members.
