The outdoor performance space at Bozeman Hot Springs has become a go-to for live music lovers, whether the sun is shining or the flurries are flying. The venue features a poolside stage with weekly showcases of regional and traveling acts every Thursday and Sunday at 7pm. Enjoy the area’s best musicians this month.
Lena “Laney Lou” Schiffer joins the Last Revel’s Ryan Acker for a January 4th performance showcasing their side project, The Canoe Dealers. The duo fronts a unique folk experience featuring vocal harmonies, banjo, and acoustic guitar with impressive songwriting to boot.
Take in a set by the King Ropes Duo on Jan. 8th. Deemed as “psychedelic hard country garage roots rock,” King Ropes spans a wide variety of genres with their atmospheric guitar, groovy drum beats, and rock vocals with a little bit of twang. Their sound has been compared to that of The Pixies and Wilco.
Next to perform is Peter King on Jan. 11th. The Dead Yellers’ frontman gears his original lyrics around the human condition, love, war and self-control. His originals tell the story of honest, blue collar life in a small town. King’s influences range from the lonesome classic country sound to that of a DIY punk rock group.
Check out Kailey Marie with support from Bill Hyland on Jan. 15th. The multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter’s music is characterized by its country grit and cosmic charm. By merging old-time outlaw country, soulful blues, and hip-hop infused rhythms, Marie has crafted a captivating sound. Her voice, which features a rebellious rasp and a sweet tone, is often compared to Janis Joplin or Dolly Parton.

Groove out to the Savvy Duo on Jan. 18th. The rowdy four-piece is known for their rock covers from every era of music. For this set, band members Kristin (guitar/vox) and Adam (drums) will be breaking things down a little for a calmer (though still rockin’) acoustic set.
Enjoy a duo show by Kelly Nicholson and Jess Atkins on Jan. 22nd. Two of the members of the local tribute band Dead Sky, the pair will bring a mix of Grateful Dead jams and other covers for Dead Heads and acoustic music fans alike.
Performing solo on Jan. 25th is Fuzzy B. One half of the Butte-based electro-funk duo Desperate Electric, Ben Morris will be bring the band’s style to a more laid-back, intimate showing. An evening featuring acoustic versions of Desperate Electric originals, those written by Morris, and a handful of groovy covers.
Dustin Tucker closes out the month on Jan. 29th. A veteran of the Bozeman music scene, his music can be described as a mix of rock riffage, soul, and groove-based pop. Tucker combines catchy hooks and melodies with his dynamic guitar and vocals, known around the area for playing with Pinky & the Floyd as well as solo endeavors.
