William Fitzsimmons is next up on Thursday, March 7th as part of the “15th Anniversary Tour” celebrating his acclaimed album, The Sparrow and the Crow. The indie troubadour’s music explores themes of joy, heartbreak, loss and connection. Primarily raised on the folk records of the 60s and 70s, his music leans heavily on the intimate, vulnerable and acoustic – always inviting the listener into a rare emotional space. Written after his first divorce, The Sparrow and the Crow is a beautiful walk through love, loss and healing. The show will feature the record in its entirety for the first time, in addition to other fan favorite songs from his catalog.
Enjoy a show by Calvin & the Coal Cars on Friday, March 15th. Since their inception, the band has made high energy country music based on the traditional sounds they grew up with. The band’s foundation is the songwriting of Lee Calvin and Brian Wetzstein, with a killer rhythm section and the tried and true country sounds of pedal steel guitar and telecaster. Since forming the band they guys have had the honor of sharing the stage with some of country music’s mainstays such as Asleep at the Wheel, Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Byrd, Whitey Morgan and The 78’s, Sawyer Brown and Kip Moore, among many others.
Zachary Lucky follows with a solo show on Saturday, March 16th. Lucky is unapologetically old-school country, armed with a husky, baritone voice. He sings of Canadian places and people as knowingly as he might Townes Van Zandt or the Rio Grande. Hailed as a master storyteller by No Depression, he’s becoming a legend in his own right and has safely reserved his spot at the table of Canadian roots royalty.
All shows begin at 8pm, with doors one hour prior. Tickets are sold night of, but these small shows are known to sell out quickly! Advance tickets are available at www.livefromthedivide.com where you can also find a complete list of upcoming shows. The Live studio is located at 627 E Peach St. in Bozeman. •
