Bozeman Public Library has once again partnered with renowned wildlife guide Ken Sinay for a weekly Wednesday Walk during select evenings this summer. Everyone is welcome to join for these leisurely strolls around the local area. Events will start at the Library, walk out and back for a total of 50 minutes, approximately three miles max, and visit the local trails.
“The purpose of these walks is to introduce people to the trails and history and wildlife and flora of the local area,” according to Beth Boyson of Bozeman Public Library, “We hope to build community and welcome people who may be new to Bozeman or are unfamiliar with the trail system or may not have anyone to walk with.”
There is no cost or registration required. Friendly suggestions for everyone attending – please arrive early, wear a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, bring something to drink, maybe use a camera and wear comfortable footwear. If it is pouring rain or lightning is nearby, the walk will be cancelled. Every walk will depart promptly at 5:30pm from the front plaza.
Upcoming Wednesday Walk schedule:
– July 9th: Gallagator Trail
– July 16th: Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve
– July 23rd: Burke Park & Peets Hill
– July 30th: Lindley Park, Bogert Park & Lindley Place
– August 6th: Sunset Hills Cemetery as a Wildlife Habitat
Wednesday Walk is one of several wellness and community building programs offered at Bozeman Public Library. Tuesday at 12:30pm, bring your baby, practice in jeans, or a walk in like a dedicated yogi. Yoga for All is for everyone. No experience necessary for this intro level yoga practice. Thursdays at 12:15pm, join certified instructor Erin Groth for her gentle movement Gyrokinesis class. Move the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. Thursday at noon, share in your community’s food traditions and favorite recipes in the Kitchen Table. This program is open for users to demonstrate and teach others their favorite recipes or food inspirations. Spectators are welcome to learn about and taste community food favorites.
