Join your friends and neighbors for a summer favorite, Lunch on the Lawn, closing out its season on Wednesday, August 2nd from 11:30am–1:30pm at the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture. A Bozeman tradition, this free community event features live music, local food vendors and children’s activities. Entertain the kids while enjoying music and mingling with other parents. Or, get away from your desk and soak up some sunshine on the Emerson’s west lawn.
The final event brings Little Jane & the Pistol Whips to the outdoor stage. The Americana/Country band from right here in Southwest Montana performs relatable, original music written by Ashly J Holland that touches your heart and gets your toes-a-tapping. They’ve been serenading folks from Montana and beyond since 2008.
Also on Aug. 2nd, the last Community Open Mic Night will be held from 4:30–8pm on the lawn. Showcase your talents or cheer on friends and family, then enjoy a closing performance by local band Brambles & Briar. The alt-folk duo has a unique, experimental sound utilizing ukulele, percussive lap guitar, layered loops and intelligent harmonies.
Food vendors will be on site during each event for those who don’t feel like packing a lunch. The work of local artists will also be on display and available for purchase. All events are free and open to the public.
Located at 111 S Grand Ave., the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture serves as a primary resource for the arts, arts education, and cultural activities in Southwest Montana. Learn more about Lunch on the Lawn and other happenings at www.theemerson.org. •
