With the 2018 school year rapidly coming to an end, it’s never too early to start making plans to keep your kids busy and active this summer.
The Montana State Lady Bobcats basketball team hopes your child(ren) will spend some of that energy on the courts of Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, as head coach Tricia Binford and her staff recently announced the dates for their 2018 summer camps.
The Lady ‘Cats will host four camps over the course of the summer: Little Bobcats, Bobcat Day Camp, Edge Elite and Team Camp.
Little Bobcats is an individual camp for girls in K-4th grade. Little Bobcats will run June 11-14 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., and each camper will receive daily snacks, a camp t-shirt and basketball.
Bobcat Day Camp is open to girls entering grades 5-8. Bobcat Day Camp runs June 11-14 as well, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on the first three days, and 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. during the final session. Day campers receive three lunches, as well as a camp t-shirt and basketball.
MSU’s Edge Elite camp is for girls entering grades 9-12, and will be on June 25-26. The opening session will run from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., with the second day running from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Edge Elite camp offers resident or commuter options. Resident campers will receive one night lodging, as well as four meals. Girls who choose the commuter option will receive three meals over the two days. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt and basketball.
MSU Team Camp will be June 9-10 with three divisions to choose from. The BLUE division is open to large school varsity teams and highly competitive small school varsity teams. The GOLD division is open to small school varsity and large school junior varsity teams, and the WHITE division is open to small school junior varsity teams. Each division is capped at 16 teams, and each team is guaranteed five games. All games are officiated by MOA certified officials.
“Summer time is the best time to work on your skills,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We strive to help each camp participant become a more complete player in a fun and safe environment. Our current Bobcat players will tell you that summer camp is where they laid the foundation for their basketball careers.”
