Settle in for an intimate musical experience with Live from the Divide, a local venue whose space allows audiences to be a part of the performance with a regular lineup of national acts and regional favorites.
California-based quartet Color Green is next up with a December 3rd show. In a very short time, the group has developed a word-of-mouth reputation as a dynamic and unpredictable live act, grounding their cosmic jams in earthy melodies and drawing from ‘60s SoCal folk-rock, ‘70s classic rock, ‘80s underground rock, ‘90s psychedelic dance-rock and any other sound that catches their ears. They capture a wild, mercurial quality on new album Fool’s Parade, a meditation on loss, grief, confusion, frustration and the clarity to which they all lead.
A special benefit show follows on Dec. 7th featuring John Floridis & Friends. Proceeds from the evening will directly support the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Joining the singer/songwriter will be percussionist Ed Stalling and cellist Jennifer Slayden, along with special guest Cade Slayden of North Fork Crossing.
The trio will perform material from Floridis’ two seasonal releases December’s Quiet Joy and The Peaceful Season, both featuring his fingerstyle acoustic guitar arrangements of traditional Christmas/Winter melodies, as well as original compositions. They’ll also include seasonal vocal tunes, both original and by other artists such as Bruce Cockburn, Patty Larkin, Ben Harper and John Gorka. The songs feature lyrics speaking to the journey from darkness to light, seasonally, emotionally and spiritually.
Viral sensation Odie Leigh delivers a Dec. 18th performance to Bozeman. Years after posting what she calls “that silly joke song” on TikTok, the budding artist has continued to transform and evolve as an artist – from what she calls “acoustic, ethereal folk sad girl music” to a harder-edge tunes that flirt with early Aughts pop-punktivism. That trajectory culminates in her first LP, Carrier Pigeon. She teamed up with a producer/musician Derek Ted to infuse the 10-track suite with a hard-edged sound and plenty of fun. Available now.
All shows begin at 8pm, with doors one hour prior. Tickets are sold night of, but these small shows are known to sell out quickly! Advance tickets are available at www.livefromthedivide.com where you can also find a complete list of upcoming shows. The Live studio is located at 627 E Peach St. in Bozeman. •
