HRDC begins triennial Community Needs Assessment
HRDC has officially started their 2019 Community Needs Assessment, beginning with a survey for all community members to identify the most pressing needs in Southwest Montana.
In 2017, HRDC’s Community Needs Assessment identified housing, transportation, and healthcare (specifically mental health), as the greatest needs in the community. The assessment is a crucial part of the organization’s status as a Community Action Agency responsible for identifying and addressing the community’s needs. It will help identify the community’s needs, and will guide HRDC’s strategic plan over the next three years.
HRDC’s 2019 Community Needs Assessment survey started on July 8th and will continue through August 23rd. In addition to the survey, HRDC will organize town halls, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews, alongside an evaluation of additional local, regional and national data. The organization’s survey is specifically designed to gain input from the community and does not duplicate previous community surveys. HRDC is required to complete a Community Needs Assessment every three years.
“As a Community Action Organization, our responsibility is to identify and respond to our community’s most pressing needs. Every few years, we conduct a Community Needs Assessment which informs our strategic plan. Some programs and services you may be aware of that stemmed from this process include our Homeownership Center, Streamline, and our Livingston Warming Center,” says Heather Grenier, HRDC’s President and CEO.
