For the second time in four seasons, the Montana State Bobcats will play for a national football championship. The Football Championship Subdivision title game will kick off at 5pm Mountain time on Monday, January 6th, at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
MSU enters the contest against the North Dakota State University Bison with the top national seed and its first-ever undefeated season. As Big Sky Conference champions, the Bobcats earned a first-round playoff bye before defeating the University of Tennessee, Martin and the University of Idaho. On Dec. 21st, they beat the University of South Dakota by a score of 31-17 to lock in their spot in the championship game.
The Bison beat South Dakota State in the other semifinal game, 28-21. MSU and NDSU last met on Dec. 2nd, 2023 in the second round of the playoffs – a game the Bison won by a single point, 35-34. The Bobcats also played NDSU in the national championship game in January 2022.

Marching Band Fundraiser
MSU has launched a fundraiser to support the Spirit of the West marching band’s travel to Frisco. More information is available at www.montana.edu/sotw.
