HELP CENTER SEEKING VOLUNTEERS
Applications are currently being accepted for volunteering on the Crisis/Suicide/2-1-1 Hotline. Initial training will take place on September 29 & October 6 with further ‘on the job’ training to follow. In addition, trainees will be expected to participate in another weekend of Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training for a weekend in early November. Trainees will gain experience in active listening skills while assisting a variety of clientele on the hotline. Opportunities for school credit are available. The crisis line is open 24 hours a day, 365 a year. A commitment to a 4-hour shift per week for 9 months following training is encouraged.
