And of course, their menu offers plenty of delicious caffeinated and other treats to enjoy alongside the tunes! Here’s a look at what’s coming up.
The next Open Mic Night will take place Friday, February 1st from 6–8pm. Come for an evening of music performed by local musicians. Bring your guitar, sitar, zither, poetry, comedy, or theremin and take a turn up at the mic. Show Bozeman what you’re made of! Individual set lengths depend on the number of musicians who want to play. Sign-ups start at 5:30pm – first come, first served. Be sure to bring your friends and support live music in Bozeman! A modest contribution to the kitty will be divided by participating musicians at the end of the night. The more people who come, the more money in the pot. An additional Open Mic Night is set for Saturday, February 16th from 6–8pm.
Colorado-based duo Pam & Dan visit the Coffee Spot on Saturday, February 2nd with a performance from 6–8pm. The pair thrive on engaging audiences with a mix of well-loved cover tunes and inspired originals.
Dan plays guitar and cajon, sings, and acts as the main songwriter for the duo. Pam is also a vocalist, and plays upright bass. They’re a fun-loving duo able to go with the flow of the crowd, from chill vibes to light and lively.
Protecting wild lands and the environment is very important to the duo, much of their music covering themed to inspire sustainable living. Pam & Dan work to promote nonprofits like GiveAFlake, Protect Our Winters, Earth Guardians, Wilderness Workshop, and Sustainable Human, among others.
Harley Larson is next up with a solo set on Friday, February 8th from 6–8pm. A member of local jam rock band Sundance & the Wilds, he’ll take Coffee Spot-goers on an acoustic journey spanning all realms of music. Be prepared for some ‘60s to modern rock, blending notable covers and some original tunes.
Ashley Ross is back on Saturday, February 9th from 6–8pm. She’s a Montana-born folk musician dedicated to inspiring and encouraging people through heartfelt original lyrics. She grew up in Bozeman, and has always loved being outdoors. She receives much of her inspiration and “creative juices” from being out in God’s creation. Ross writes her songs based on personal experience and the stories of people around her. While she enjoys performing, she hopes that the message of her songs reaches beyond just one night and can touch those that hear them with truth, Jesus’ love, and with hope.
A new band to the Bozeman music scene, The Night Caps are set to perform on Friday, February 15th from 6–8pm. The band embodies the fun, upbeat nature of bluegrass music while also embracing the tender nuances of folk storytelling. With a diverse array of music, powerful lyrics, and intricate instrumentation, they’ll surely bring your evening to a pleasant close.
Enjoy the talents of local country artist William Chandler Huntley on Friday, February 22nd from 6–8pm. The South Carolina native draws influence from Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Guy Clark, John Prine, Robert Earl Keen and other country greats, from the current and past. His upbeat, finger-picking guitar style and soulful voice are something to behold.
Looking ahead, local duo Caampwood heads downtown with a Sunday afternoon show on February 24th from 1–3pm. Comprised of Savannah Wood (vocals) and Reese Campbell (guitarist), the pair brings a mellow, laid-back vibe, perfect for enjoying a hot cup of coffee on a cold Bozeman winter’s day.
