They’re back! F-11 Photo’s information and experience-rich classes are ripe with opportunities to refine your skills, get a handle on your devices, and interact with knowledgeable instructors. Here’s a look at some of the upcoming courses.
Photo 101: Basic Digital Photography will take place Tuesday, February 19th from 6–8pm. Whether you’re a new camera owner or just an owner of a camera you don’t understand, this class effortlessly introduces the essentials of Digital Photography and helps you understand how to use your camera correctly and creatively. Point and shoot cameras, as well as cameras that accept interchangeable lenses and their owners are welcome.
Join instructor Becca Tatarka to explore the what, when and why of digital camera settings. Get comfortable with the geek-speak of digital photography. Learn about essential accessories and composition tricks that make your life easier and your pictures shine. Cover automatic modes and what they mean. Protect your pictures and your investment by learning the right way to care for your camera, memory cards and batteries. Tickets are $50, or $40 for F-11 VIP members.
Photo 102: Intermediate Photography will follow on Wednesday, February 20th from 6–8pm. Participants will strengthen their confidence and competence in digital imaging. The intermediate class is best for owners of cameras that accept interchangeable lenses, rather than point and shoot users. It doesn’t matter what brand of camera you use.
Learn what a correct exposure is and how to use the tools and settings on your camera to get it right every time. Find out how exposure, ISO, resolution, and white balance affect the quality of pictures. You’ll see how focus, zoom and exposure modes can be used to creatively complement composition. You’ll find out how to read a histogram, as well as what metadata is and how it can help you in everyday picture-taking situations. Sign up for Basic and Intermediate for the bundle price of $90. Intermediate is $50 on its own, or $40 for F-11 VIPs.
Lightroom Setup & Organization is set for Wednesday, February 27th from 6–8pm. With the help of F-11’s Matt MaCoy, take the first steps out of Apple Photos or Google Gallery and streamline your photo management when you learn the essentials for getting started in Lightroom Classic, Adobe’s industry leading raw processor. Lightroom offers more options for tagging and organizing photos, including new cataloging techniques and rating and tagging system for easy image look-up and accessibility.
