BOZEMAN — In honor of its 10-year anniversary, Gallatin College Montana State University will host an open house on Thursday, July 30. The event, which is open for prospective students and the public, will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gallatin College East Campus, 705 Osterman Drive.
The open house will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony and some words from Gallatin College Dean Stephanie Gray. There will be small group tours of the facility and programs. The college’s 13 programs will offer interactive demonstrations of what their programs entail and in-demand careers students can pursue. Instructors from each department will be on hand to answer questions.
“Gallatin College exists to serve our local community and industries, so we are excited to have the opportunity to share our past accomplishments and future opportunities with the public,” Gray said.
To align with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and public health guidelines, Gallatin College will have measures in place to minimize the spread of the coronavirus. Attendees will be required to wear masks or face coverings, utilize hand sanitizer and practice social distancing, remaining 6 feet apart. Tours will follow a designated route and doors will be kept open to promote air flow and ventilation.
Light refreshments will be available and there will also be chances for attendees to win giveaway prizes.
Along with its celebration, Gallatin College will also host “Gallatin Live: Real Skills in Real Time,” a monthly Facebook Live event featuring the college’s expert educators sharing useful tips, industry secrets and live demonstrations. The first event, “Boost your Personal Cyber and Network Security,” will take place Thursday, July 23, and feature a 20- to 25-minute tutorial from cybersecurity and network technology program director Ronda Black.
Although the open house is open to the public, those who are interested in tours must RSVP at montana.edu/calendar/events/34423.
