First up is Ian Thomas & Band of Drifters on January 2nd and 3rd. The group plays modern American roots music and encourage audiences to dance. Based mostly in Montana and Tennessee, the band also includes players from all over the country, keeping the music varied in arrangement, instrumentation and regional influences. The Drifters’ sets draw from country, folk and blues traditions with an emphasis on original songs, done in the old style.
Rock, rhythm & blues artists Gary Small & the Coyote Brothers perform Jan. 9th and 10th. If you love blues, rockabilly, surf, and plain ole good times music, then you’re in the right place – they’re known as “Purveyors of Good Boogie Music.” The Coyote Bros are a diverse band defined by its rockabilly, blues, cajun, surf, reggae, and anything else they deem cool.

Enjoy the talents of El Wencho on Jan. 16th and 17th. The powerhouse duo delivers big sound that relates the Montana lifestyle through immersive lyrics, catchy melodies and driving rhythms. Their authentic music is an eclectic fusion of genres that draws on sonic elements from red dirt rock, blues, country, Americana and polyrhythmic Latin percussion. Live shows are an experiential combination of their dynamic Montana sound, engaging storytelling and comedic flair.
Enjoy the boot-stomping bluegrass of Helena’s Off the Grid on Jan. 23rd and 24th. Frontman Bo Pirre’s vocals and strumming are flanked by fellow group members Wes Walker (banjo, dobro) and Chris Heisel (bass). The trio plays everything from traditional bluegrass to modern Americana.
Performing late this month is Jackson Holte & the Highway Patrol on Jan. 30th and 31st. The Missoula-based rock n’ roll band is fronted by Holte, whose blend of earthy narrative songwriting and soaring blues guitar playing is complemented by Marko “The Midnight Shadow” Capoferri on bass, Tyson Gerhardt on guitar, Eric Rudnick on pedal steel, and Aaron Chiazza on drums. With a firm grounding in America’s folk traditions, the band is able to bound across genres in an authentic and emotive re-imagining of what a working rock n’ roll band can be. Their latest release, Last Rain of Summer, is out now.
