Fleming, Stern set concert Sept. 29 at MSU
Jake Fleming, saxophone instructor at the Montana State University School of Music, and pianist Stefan Stern will reflect on a selection of 20th century classical compositions at a concert set at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Reynolds Recital Hall on the MSU Campus. Admission is free.
The program will include “Concertino for Baritone Saxophone” by Paul Harvey; “Souvenir” by Robert Walker; “Sonata for Tenor Saxophone” by James Di Pasquale; “In the Company of My Soul,” by Kelly-Marie Murphy; “Sonata for Alto Saxophone” by Stephen Dankner.
Fleming is a musician, educator, composer and producer. A graduate of the MSU School of Music, he is a staple in the Bozeman community as a music educator and a popular local musician.
Stern has a master’s degree from the University of Music, Drama and Media in Hannover, Germany. Also a resident of Bozeman, Stern is the music director for Montana Ballet Company and performs locally as a jazz, classical and rock pianist.
Reynolds Recital Hall is located in Howard Hall, across the street from the MSU Duck Pond. •
