Montanans for Healthy Rivers, in collaboration with American Rivers and the Greater Yellowstone Coalition, are set to present the annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Thursday, April 11th. The event will be held at Bozeman’s Rialto Theater and will begin at 6pm.
The largest film festival of its kind, Wild & Scenic showcases the best and brightest in environmental and adventure films. Festival viewers can expect to see award-winning water and river-focused short films and have the opportunity to learn more about the Montana Headwaters Legacy Act and how you can help us permanently protect 385 miles of Montana’s wild and free-flowing rivers.
Films to be screened include I Am Salmon, Near the River, Bring the Salmon Home, Toxic Art, 6,000 Miles, Like a River, Driving Sweep, A Baffin Vacation and Losing Blue. Film descriptions may be found through the festival website as well as ticketing access. Tickets are $10 via Eventbrite.
The South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL – pronounced ‘circle’) started the Wild & Scenic Film Festival in January 2003 to promote community building within the Yuba Watershed, as well as a way to explore environmental issues through an exciting and influential medium. The film tour allows SYRCL to share their success with other environmental groups nationwide.
