Montana Backcountry Alliance, in partnership with Arc’teryx Equipment, welcomes winter recreationists to the annual Backcountry Film Festival this month. The event will be held on Thursday, January 15th, at the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture. Films screen at 7pm.
Come out for the sweet films chronicling our favorite winter pastimes, skiing and boarding. Connect with fellow skiers and riders. And come out for the famous raffle, including some big prize giveaways from Arc’teryx, Big Sky Mountain Products, Spire Climbing Gym and more.
All proceeds assist Montana Backcountry Alliance in its mission to preserve quality, traditional, human-powered winter recreation experiences, reduce conflict, improve opportunity and promote safety among backcountry winter users in Montana.

Following on Friday, January 23rd, the Fly Fishing Film Tour reels in audiences at the Emerson as part of its 20th anniversary event. Films begin at 7pm.
This milestone year promises to be a landmark event, as the tour kicks off with a fresh collection of the finest fly fishing films from across the globe. Anglers, explorers, and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to experience this special edition of the tour.
Featuring stunning cinematography, compelling narratives, and adrenaline-filled moments on the water, the 20th Annual F3T is a tribute to the spirit of adventure and the enduring fly fishing culture that has grown with the tour over the past twenty years.
This year’s lineup dives deeper than ever – spotlighting wild places, inspiring conservation stories, and the dedicated individuals who live and breathe fly fishing. Whether you’re a lifelong angler or new to the sport, the 2026 tour delivers a cinematic journey that’s sure to cast a lasting impression.
