The Filling Station is where live music lives, a local venue that brings in locally celebrated musicians and traveling acts of every genre. The concerts showcase a variety of artists, welcoming diverse audiences to the north Bozeman space with performances held throughout the week.
Rocky Mountain Sonic kick off the month with a February 2nd show at 9pm. Openers Lone Elder, a reincarnation of Bubba Fett, kick off the music at 9pm. The group mixes psychedelic jam band vibes with the blues, creating a sonic landscape that takes audiences out of this world.
Skelecore open for The Contractors on Feb. 3rd. Music starts at 9pm. This new power trio features Ralph Petty (guitar, vocals), Michael Kirkwood (bass) and Elias Allen (drums). They will perform modern rock covers and a handful of originals.
Filthy Family presents Gorilla NEMS and Mac Lethal at 8pm on Feb. 6th as part of their “Don’t Ever Disrespect Me Tour.” The show will feature additional support from DJ J Blacc, Filth & Foul, DJ Bionic, Austin Jordan, Bubba Scholler & Duke Altman, Caleb Jacobson, AR.O, Freestyle Fresh and Blicky Boyz, among others.
Boot Juice, presented by Electric River, will perform Feb. 8th with opening support by The Prawns at 8pm. Generating buzz with its high-energy performances and party-sparking reputation, the band features electric and acoustic guitars, three vocalists, bass, drums, trumpet and alto saxophone. Boot Juice shifts effortlessly between driving bluegrass and Americana into cosmic rock n’ roll. They deliver three-part vocal harmonies and dynamic instrumental arrangements with a sultry dose of blues and soul. The collective effect leaves crowds little choice but to shake it down on the dance floor.
Take in a barn-burning performance by Desperate Electric on Feb. 9th featuring a 9pm opening set by Puddle. The Butte-based progressive electro-soul duo consists of Kayti Korte (bass/vocals) and Ben Morris (guitar/keys/vocals) who blend soulful rock music with an electronic sound to create something completely unique. The band boasts an impressive, vocal-centric sound paired with a wildly energetic performance. Their latest release, What Do You Want, as well as singles “Dopamine” and “Red Hot” are available now.
E Plurbis Unum warm up the crowd for budding rock project Parahellion on Feb. 10th at 9pm. Consisting of hard and soft elements that illustrate their creative capacity, the foursome – Grace Wood (vocals), Matthew Thacker (guitar), Rob Lehrkind (drums) and Greg Sullivan (bass) – exhibits a unique sound reminiscent of The Breeders, LA WITCH and Amyl & the Sniffers.
Spend a “Black Tie Evening” with MST on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14th, featuring a night of dress-up, dancing and romance. The event begins at 8pm. The group takes an improv approach to writing, co-creating songs together through round-table-style idea sessions. The band’s first album is set to release in the spring of 2024. A genre-fused mix with a focus on space and intention, the album serves as a culmination of the band’s two years together.
sorryimolive will present the Anti-Valentine Mix Genre Party on Feb. 15th featuring additional support from Jacob Rountree, Haykay Okay, Filth & Foul, Goggins and more. Music starts at 8pm. The local singer/songwriter is known for her mix of R&B and hip-hop, adding some welcome texture to the Bozeman live music scene.
Delivering their winter tour to Bozeman, The PickPockets perform with local support from North Fork Crossing at 9pm on Feb. 17th. The five-piece string band from Salt Lake City takes you into an inviting world of heartfelt lyrics, catchy melodies and gripping solos. Using an expansive repertoire and ever-growing sound, they continue to immerse audiences in new styles, new genres and unforgettable grooves. With traditional instruments and future outlooks, The Pickpockets are breathing new life into a timeless tradition: bluegrass.
Performing on Feb. 24th is Mojo Risin with openers Pony Express at 8pm. Formed with the goal of honoring and celebrating the music of The Doors, the Bozeman-based band is comprised of professional and passionate musicians and a frontman who embodies the soulful and mystic nature of Jim Morrison. From “Light My Fire” to “LA Woman” and everything in between, Mojo Risin’s live shows aim to recreate one of the most influential and controversial rock acts of the 1960s.
