One of the area’s most storied live music venues, the Filling Station brings in locally celebrated musicians and traveling acts. The concerts showcase artists from a variety of genres, welcoming diverse audiences to the north Bozeman space with performances held throughout the week.
Hemlock are next up on July 6th with opening support from Dank Crypt and My Fist Your Face. Their sound features a heavy blend of chugging riffs, deep bass tones, rhythmic grooves and catchy lyrics with a haberdash of melody in the mix. Lyrically, the band is always creative and positive with hook-filled songs befitting of scream-alongs.
Jazz Cabbage take the stage July 8th with openers Good Hot Food. New to the local scene, the jazz-funk fusion ensemble combines hard hitting, high energy funk beats with soulful melodies that get audiences grooving.
On July 13th, Daily Confused perform alongside Higher Law and Come Back K. Playing a groovy mix of alternative rock and funk, this four-piece deems their music as “ski-rock,” even though it’s perfect for any time of the year. They play originals with a few covers scattered throughout.
Alternative hard rock band Brother Venus make their live debut opening for Hot Milk & the Flower Pallets on July 14th. The headliners are an instrumental prog rock band from right here in Bozeman. Come check them out!
One Less Guest open for Savvy on July 15th. Montana’s top party band plays your favorite dance and sing-along hits from the 80s to today. Their sole purpose is to play what the people want to hear and get everyone singing and dancing.
The Brevet return to Bozeman on July 19th featuring opening support from Jacob Rountree and Carly King. The California five-piece is known for a raucous live show and sonic precision of their extensive studio history. Their songs are cinematic, full of rousing choruses and sing-along hooks. The group has released several singles off their long-gestating new album, Wanderers, to be released this fall.
In from the Flathead Valley, The Gray Goo take the stage July 22nd with openers Rune Caller and Puddle. The Goo takes a unique and proggy take on the psychedelic genres, creating a fantastical journey through realms of doom metal, funk, psyche rock, punk, even bluegrass and disco. Fans from all over the spectrum of music can surely grasp onto something they enjoy.
Rocky Fall perform on July 26th. Prepare for an evening of ravin’, rockin’ sounds from this local underground trio.
Jessie Thoreson will be on hand to open for Benn & Abel on July 28th. The duo lives in the space between bluegrass, Americana and the blues. Influences vary from guitar players like Chet Atkins, to songwriters such as Doc Watson and duos like the Milk Carton Kids. They play a mixture of originals and covers, with a new album in the works.
The Dead & Down close the month on July 29th with help from Art & Funk. The band envelopes the introspective and often heavy songwriting of Taylor Burlage in a blanket of sound descended from Southern rock and psychedelia. The Dead & Down will take you on a journey through moments of cosmic flare and pure, unadulterated rock n’ roll balanced with a Western feel.
