The Montana State University Guitar Ensemble will perform a free fall studio recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, in Reynolds Recital Hall on the MSU campus.
Students of Michael Videon, MSU music professor, will perform a selection of music for solo guitar. The MSU guitar ensemble also will perform “Trio Magico” by Roland Dyens and the “First London Trio” by Joseph Haydn. MSU graduate Eric Lewis will also join Videon on a set of pieces entitled “Modinha Brasileira” for two guitars by Celso Machado.
Videon has been on the faculty since 1997 at the MSU School of Music in the College of Arts and Architecture, where he directs the guitar program. He earned his master’s degree in classical guitar performance from the University of Minnesota, where his principal teacher was Jeffrey Van. He has performed in master classes with Christopher Parkening, John Sutherland, David Tanenbaum and Eduardo Fernandez, among others. Videon has performed across the country and remains active, performing a stylistically diverse range of music in both solo and ensemble settings.
The concert is free and open to the public. Masks are recommended.
