
Women’s Fly Fishing Foundations Series

Join us for a comprehensive introduction to fly fishing, aimed at providing beginner and aspiring anglers with a strong foundation with a focus on targeting trout. This education-based series, held at The Gallatin River Lodge, will cover introductory topics, including gear, equipment, fly rod anatomy, essential knots, entomology and fly selection, and intro to fly casting. Included in your ticket price is featured small bites and sips from GRL’s incredible restaurant. Note: No fishing will be taking place during this classroom style series and no equipment or experience is required. Weekly Class Topics:
• Week 1 – Gear, Equipment, and Fly Rod Anatomy
• Week 2 – Entomology, Fly Selection, Essential Knots and Rigging
• Week 3 – Trout Habitat, Reading Water, Stream Etiquette & Stewardship and Finding Fishing Access
• Week 4 – Introduction to Fly Casting, Drifts, Mends, and Safe Fish Handling
