The Little Mermaid with Fiona Lee
June 18 @ 6:30pm
Yellowstone Ballet Academy and Yellowstone Ballet Company are thrilled to announce our Montana Regional Summer Intensive with a performance at the Livingston Farmers Market on June 10th and a performance of The Little Mermaid with Fiona Lee of the Royal Danish Ballet on Thursday, June 18th at Willson Auditorium.
Yellowstone Ballet Company (YBC) presents *The Little Mermaid* on Thursday,
June 18th, 6:30pm at the Willson Auditorium. Kathleen Rakela, YBC Artistic
Director and recipient of a prestigious Montana Arts Council Fellowship in
the Performing Arts, has created an enchanting multi-media production that
will delight all ages, with magical costumes, delightful choreography, sea
creatures and projected ocean images. Daniel Parker, former conductor of
the Hartford Ballet, composed the compelling score, interwoven with Robert
Worobec’s moving narration of the Hans Christian Anderson fairytale (not
Disney version).
Two professional guest artists join area dancers from Yellowstone Ballet
Academy, YBC alumna Fiona Lee who now dances with the Royal Danish Ballet
Company will perform the title role of the Little Mermaid; and Marko Mikov
of Milwaukee Ballet will perform the Prince.
Every child who attends *The Little Mermaid* will receive a complimentary
sea shell. After the performance, parents may take pictures of their child
with the little mermaid and various sea creatures in a Little Nemo costume
or starfish costume.
Tickets will be available at yellowstoneballet.info on May 10th. For more
information or group rates, email YellowstoneBalletCo@gmail.com.
