“The Dead & Down are an exploratory roots-rock band inspired as much by the vast landscapes and dramatic mountain ranges of their Montana home as they are by the myriad musical influences that weave through their sound. Based around the introspective songwriting and dusty vocals of frontman Taylor Burlage, the band navigates sonic trails between rust-flecked alt country and swampy rock ‘n’ roll, with detours through psychedelia and genre-bending experimentation. They have opened for the likes of Paul Cauthen, Futurebirds, and the Last Revel and have hit the stage at Under the Big Sky Music Festival, Red Ants Pants Music Festival and more. Their recently released sophomore album, No Broken Bones, displays the sound of a band hungry to find out what lies beyond the next ridge and only just beginning their journey.”
“Charlie Apple’s sound fuses the rhythm and narratives of classic country, Americana and western psychedelia with an underbelly of deep house music and hip hop. Apple’s baritone vocals call back to the dark cowboy, with vocal influences such as Lee Hazelwood and Johnny Cash. Pulling from his experiences with house production and performances with PARTYGOERS in the Montana dance music scene, Apple’s storytelling creates a nouveau dance country made for the modern outlaw.”
“Stonefruit is Bozeman’s newest band! Their sound is a mix of indie rock and dream pop, with some hints of twang in there if you look for ’em. Listeners of Stonefruit are also enjoyers of: eating a big ol’ nectarine, laying down in a shallow creek, watching television, driving around town at night, and making tunnels in the dirt.”
