For more than 55 years, Ray Benson has led Asleep at the Wheel, serving as the driving force behind one of the most beloved and influential Western Swing bands in American music.
A bandleader, singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer, and storyteller, Benson has spent his career carrying the sound of Western Swing forward while building a legacy rooted in country, roots, jazz, and Americana music. His honors include Texas State Musician, Texan of the Year, the Texas Medal of the Arts, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association.
This performance takes place in the intimate listening room setting of Live From The Divide, where audiences experience artists up close in a seated environment where the focus is on the music. Unlike a traditional bar or concert venue, listening rooms encourage guests to be fully present with the performance, creating a rare opportunity to hear every story, lyric, and note as it was intended.
