Rock and Gem Day
June 29 @ 1:00pm
Join us for a day of rocks, gems and fun at the library. Lapidary artists will demonstrate how to cut and polish rocks on various pieces of equipment and talk about the process. There will be some easy rockhounding for children and fun for the whole family.
Activities include: screening for gems, lapidary equipment demonstrations, understanding tumblers with an experienced enthusiast, fluorescent mineral displays, rock painting, sensory bins, and a cooking demonstration focused on an edible rock.
Featuring fossils from the Museum of the Rockies!
In the event of bad weather, some activities will be cancelled, others moved indoors.
