Park County Community Conversation

You’re invited to join a Community Conversation where a panel of specialists from across the state will gather to discuss hot topics on the minds of many Park County residents: dark money, data centers, public lands, healthcare, housing costs, and voting rights.
This nonpartisan event will be at the Shane Center’s Dulcie Theatre, 415 E. Lewis St., Livingston, on Sunday, September 20, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.

This is not a debate; instead, each speaker will present what they know about each topic and then answer written questions submitted by audience members. Scott McMillion, journalist, author, and editor of the Montana Quarterly, will serve as moderator.

The speakers include:
* Mary Erickson, a retired USFS Custer Gallatin National Forest Supervisor who now serves on the board of directors of the Montana Conservation Corps, will talk about public lands issues.
* Jeff Edmunds, the founding director and CEO of Not My Bill, will discuss data centers.
* Jeff Mangan, the former Montana Commissioner of Political Practice and now founder and president of the Transparent Election Initiative, will address dark money in our political system.
* Jane Arntzen Schumacher, president of the League of Women Voters of Bozeman, will discuss voting rights.
* Heather Grenier, president and CEO of our region’s Community Action Organization and Community Development Corporation (HRDC), will discuss housing issues.
* Laurie Bishop, a former state representative from Livingston who now serves as the Community Health Specialist with LiveWell49, will discuss healthcare challenges.

The organizers, Rick Lamplugh and Mary Strickroth, hope everyone attending will develop a deeper understanding of these important issues and use that knowledge to make better, informed choices during the general election in November.
