Paradise Permaculture Institute irrigation demonstration

This Saturday, May 16th, at 9:30 a.m., we will be turning on the irrigation water in our swale system at Paradise Permaculture Institute.
This is always a meaningful moment on the land. When water is directed through a swale system instead of sprayed overhead, you can see how much more deeply and gently it works with the soil, the plants, and the whole growing system. This kind of water design can be adapted to properties of many sizes, from a backyard garden to a larger landscape.
Come see firsthand how water can:
* Soak slowly into the land instead of quickly running off
* Support deeper roots and healthier soil life
* Reduce the need for overhead watering
* Help plants become more resilient during dry periods
* Create a living example of how thoughtful design supports abundance
We will take a moment together to toast, in appreciation, the water that supplies life on Earth with a plant-based drink.
Afterward, you are welcome to stay and help transplant cilantro into the Rolling High Tunnel greenhouse.
Volunteers may drop in anytime between 10:00 a.m. and noon this Saturday, May 16th.
